Ken Ashworth attended Nassau Community College. In 1968, Ken joined Liberty Mutual Insurance Company where he acquired his NYS brokers license and began selling commercial insurance in NYC and Long Island. In 1970, Ken accepted a career agent position with New England Mutual Life Insurance Company. While there he became an NASD Registered Representative with NEL Equities, secured his life and health licenses and broadened his skills and knowledge in life, health and financial products as well as employee group benefit plans.

In 1974, Ken and a partner opened Designed Coverage Corporation, an independent insurance agency. Ken was the sales & marketing officer of the and specialized in commercial contractors, school districts, wholesalers, manufacturers, bonds and the marine trades industry.

In May of 2001 merged with Cook, Hall & Hyde, Inc. where he is a Vice President and limited partner. Ken continues to provide services to his customers as well as new commercial sales & other services to the agency.

Ken has served on Fireman's Fund agents panel, as CNA's local Pacer Panel Chairman and CNA's Regional Claims Liaison Representative. Ken received Liberty Mutual's Top Producers Award, CNA's Regional Commercial Excellence Award, Safeco's Commercial Commander Award as well as other life and group insurance sales and achievement awards.

Ken is married and has five children. His community activities have included: member of The LI Presbytery-Board of Trustees; Chairperson of the Babylon Christian School; Treasurer of the Babylon Presbyterian Church and member of the Board of Education of Bellmore Union Free School District and the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School Board of Education. He is an active Elder in the Westhampton Presbyterian Church.
